Jakarta, Waspada.co.id – PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) has prepared a quality network in order to ensure the success of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), including the polling day.
Although there are no specific preparations, XL Axiata is determined to maintain the network so that the democratic event can be enjoyed to the fullest by customers and the general public. The readiness of this network is part of the continuous efforts to improve the network and customer experience carried out by XL Axiata throughout the year.
XL Axiata’s Director & Chief Technology Officer, I Gede Darmayusa, stated that they have prepared a network with sufficient capacity to anticipate any increase in traffic during the election. The comfort and smooth communication activities of customers and the public are our concern and priority.
“Our hope is that if there is an increase in traffic, the service will continue to run smoothly without any significant obstacles,” he said on Wednesday (7/2).
I Gede added that it is estimated there will be a 10% increase in traffic during the democratic event compared to normal days. XL Axiata’s network officers and teams will be on standby in the field as well as at the Customer Experience & Service Operation Center (CE&SOC) monitoring center owned by XL Axiata in Jakarta. Anticipation for emergency conditions has also been prepared to ensure a quality network.
“Currently, XL Axiata has more than 57 million customers, supported by more than 158 thousand BTS, with the majority being 4G BTS, as well as a backbone fiber optic network spanning more than 159 thousand km, supporting data networks spread across most of the vast Indonesian archipelago,” he revealed.
XL Axiata has also prepared the network to anticipate an increase in data traffic during the celebration of Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh. It is predicted that the increase in traffic will occur mainly in major cities such as Mataram (7%), Denpasar (7%), Yogyakarta (7%), Badung (7%), and Pontianak (6%).
XL Axiata will pay full attention to the network quality in residential areas, accommodations, places of worship, and shopping centers. The increase in traffic will mainly occur in data services.
“In terms of services, streaming services such as movies, music, and games are generally predicted to experience an increase. In addition, services such as Video Call, Web Browsing, and Instant Messaging (IM) will also experience an increase because usually many people will send greetings during this moment,” he concluded.
