Jakarta – Prime Minister or President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sánchez congratulated presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto who won the 2024 presidential election.
He conveyed this congratulation through an official letter with the header of El Presidente Del Goboerno dated February 27, 2024. The letter was delivered directly by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Francisco de Asis Aguilera Aranda, to the Ministry of Defense office on Friday (15/3).
“I want to convey my congratulations on Your Excellency’s victory in the presidential election on February 14,” Pedro said to Prabowo in his letter.
The Indonesian people have clearly placed their trust in the leadership and programs offered to successfully face the next five years,” he continued.
Pedro also expressed his confidence in Prabowo’s experience and good performance to lead Indonesia in the future.
“I am confident that Your Excellency’s experience and good performance in your policies will allow the Indonesian people to achieve a better level of welfare during your term,” said Pedro.
He also expressed that Spain and Indonesia have successfully developed extraordinary relationships, both bilaterally and in multilateral forums attended by both countries, especially at the G-20.
These relationships, Pedro says, are based on shared principles and values, which fundamentally uphold international peace and security, and respect for the rules of International Law in supporting the United Nations system and cooperation to address climate emergencies.
“Spain will continue to strengthen its relationship with Indonesia. I take this opportunity to convey my highest appreciation to the Elected President,” he said.
Prabowo also expressed his thanks for Pedro’s congratulations. He revealed this in a post on his personal Instagram @prabowo on Friday.
“It is an honor to receive congratulations from the President of the Government of Spain, His Excellency Pedro Sánchez,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo stated that the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Spain will continue to be enhanced through strategic partnerships in the fields of economy, defense, and culture, as well as the deep friendship that has been closely built.
