President Prabowo Subianto is dedicated to improving the lives of the less fortunate through various flagship programs aimed at providing immediate assistance and creating a better future for generations to come. Initiatives such as Sekolah Rakyat, Kopdes Merah Putih, and MBG are all part of the government’s efforts to break the cycle of poverty and restore dignity to those in need.
During a recent discussion titled Accelerating the Success of President Prabowo’s Programs, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono emphasized the importance of programs like Sekolah Rakyat in disrupting the cycle of poverty from one generation to the next. The President’s vision is to ensure that children do not have to inherit their parents’ economic struggles, with education being key to this transformation.
Eradicating poverty is a top priority for President Prabowo’s administration, with ambitious goals to eliminate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the overall national poverty rate to below 5% by 2029. This will be achieved through a combination of social interventions and community empowerment programs aimed at benefiting the poor as quickly as possible.
Adita Irawati, Senior Expert at the Presidential Communications Office, also highlighted the administration’s three-pronged strategy to combat poverty, which includes initiatives like the People’s School, Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools. The CKG health program, in particular, aims to reach 50 million Indonesians by the end of the year, focusing on schoolgirls from elementary to high school.
On the economic front, the Red-and-White Village Cooperatives seek to stimulate local economies and create job opportunities for rural and urban communities. President Prabowo is set to launch the Kopdes Merah Putih program with a goal of establishing 80,000 cooperatives nationwide, empowering communities to meet their own needs and generate livelihoods independently.
Overall, President Prabowo’s commitment to uplifting the poor and breaking the cycle of poverty is evident through these programs, showcasing a holistic approach to poverty alleviation and community empowerment.
